Chinmaya Mission College is pledged to impart value based education through a holistic approach. The college is run under Chinmaya Mission Worldwide having a global network of 65 academic institutions including Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth, Chinmaya Vidyalayas, Chinmaya International Residential School, Chinmaya Institute of Technology and Arts and Science Colleges. The institution was incepted into this noble stream with the blessings of H.H. Swami Chinmayanandaji. The college held its first regular classes in the year 1975 at Shaktan Thampuran Palace, Thrissur. Being in wide acclaim for 15 years, the college continued to be one of the leading educational institutions in Private Sector with strength of students approximately to 2500. In the year 1993, owing to the takeover of the Palace by the Archeological Department, the college was shifted to a new facility located at a short distance, Kolazhy. Although the abrupt shift in the location was a challenge, within a short period of time the able administration with renewed energy was successful in bringing the college back to its earlier glory. Since the shift to the new location, the college has undergone an extensive construction program to convert what was once a paddy field into a modern campus with an area of 2 acres. Presently, the college accommodates 2700 students in various courses ranging from B.A. Economics, B.Sc Maths, B.Sc. Computer Science B.Com., BBA, BCA to MCA, MBA, M.Com. of Calicut University, Kerala University and Bharathiar University. The college employs 70 full-time and part-time faculties and 20 non-teaching employees. From the year 2018, College is the Authorised Training Centre of Kerala State Rutronix to offer PSC/Govt. approved courses.
I have no words to express my love to my college Chinmaya. Chinmaya has made me what I am.... I have a million sweet memories in my heart... my college days...I really enjoyed each micro second at chinmaya ... I understand that I will never get those days back...! I am really feeling the pain.. feeling the pain of Nostalgia.
It was the most beautiful turning point in my life where I could see myself being whom I am today. Turning back towards the days, gives full of happiness. It’s not only the place to study where there are excellent teachers as well as non-faculty members but also a place to show your talents which are encouraged too.It’s the best place to be chosen as your college. I am blessed to be a student of Chinmaya Mission College. From the moment I stepped into, I have been transformed a lot. Myself as a student was treated as a lamp and was lit by the hands of great Gurus here. I have immensely learned to silently hear everyone, accept what is good and forget what is not. And also sensed what intelligent living is. I have grasped that great happiness is to love and to be loved and also studied to expose myself alone.
college life is a very memorable part of everyone’s scrapbook, personal diary, photo album or anything else. However it is, but it is close to the heart. If we are self-conscious, we will do both hard work and fun at a balance and thus make the most of it. The faculty in our college is also a grade high. Got to learn many lessons of life. Many memories. Vert honored and happy to be called an ex student of chinmaya mission college..
